Sports massage therapy

Sports massage is a type of therapy that is focused and systematic, targeting muscles that are used in a specific sport. It uses various techniques to decrease muscle pain and improve recovery, as well as improve overall range of motion and flexibility to support safe and effective movement.

Dry needling / acupuncture

Dry needling and musculoskeletal acupuncture are modern treatment designed to ease muscular pain. During the treatment, several filiform needles are inserted into your skin. The needles are placed in “trigger points” in your muscle or tissue. These points are areas of knotted or hard muscle, the needle helps release the knot and relieve any muscle pain or spasms.

Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy is a traditional Chinese and Middle Eastern practice that involves placing cups at certain points on a person's skin. Suction in the cups pulls against the skin. This suction improves the flow of energy in the body and facilitate healing.

K-taping

Kinesiology taping is a technique that involves placing a sturdy, stretchy cotton/nylon tape, on the skin. It was developed in the 1970s by Dr. Kenzo Kase, a Japanese chiropractor. The tape is designed to mimic the skin's elasticity so you can use your full range of motion.

About Eagle Sports Massage

Hi, I’m Fiona. I have a keen interest in all types of sports and general health and wellbeing. My particular passions are running and hiking. After being involved in a variety of sport throughout the years I have had my fair share of sporting injuries and as a result, I have experienced first hand how challenging the management of injuries can be (both physically and mentally). I have also experienced the many pitfalls of recovery, and through these experiences I began to educate myself in the benefits of massage which have eventually led to my professional qualifications. I really am passionate about helping others to maintain their physical fitness and longevity in sport as well as assisting them to overcome any injuries that may develop by using my skills to formulate the best injury recovery plan. If you have any questions please contact me.
